Ten years in Australia: #2. The Red Centre

This week marks the tenth anniversary of my arrival in Australia!

In celebration, throughout this week I will be sharing some of my favourite photograhs of this great country.

My time in Central Australia was brief and plagued with vicious mood swings and mental health incidents so photography was, alas, not high on my agenda. However, on occasion I was able to indulge in this passion to capture some of the greatest landscape and wildlife images I’ve ever shot.

This particular landscape was taken on a weekend excursion into the MacDonnell Ranges, west of Alice Springs, and is arguably my favourite photograph that I’ve taken in the last five years. The emptiness of the vast sky and deep colours of the earth have haunted me ever since.
