Addy,
Do you think you are getting better?
In comparison to where you were a year ago, do you think you are in a better place?

Hi,
Thanks for the comment, and apologies for taking so long to reply.
In some areas of my life things have improved tremendously since this time last year, especially when it comes to the support I’ve been receiving. This time last year I’d only just started working with a mental health organisation so hadn’t built a relationship with my support worker, or any of the other employees there. But now I’ve been working with them for twelve months, I’ve built a trusting relationship with my support worker, as well as with several other people who work for the organisation. This has meant that getting the help I need is much, much easier as I have someone who can advocate on my behalf when the anxiety and other mental health issues get in the way.
I also have a much better sense of a future than I did this time last year. Although I wouldn’t go so far as to say I believe I have a happy, loving future ahead of me (although I hope this will come in time), I do believe that certain things are possible when I didn’t last year.
However, in other areas of my life, notably my self-confidence, self-esteem and body image, I personally don’t believe I have made much headway in these fields – but other people (such as my support worker) think I have, but because I’ve spent so long looking at myself in a negative light, I’m unable to see this progress.
So am I in a better place? Yes, definitely, but I still have a lot of work to do in the year ahead.
Wishing you an awesome Christmas and a blissfully happy new year! :)

Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the quotes as I had a wonderful time putting them together.
I’ve started to put a lot of strategies into place for the Christmas period as it’s usually not a great time for me, but so far I am doing reasonably well. Hopefully you’re festive preparations are going well! :)
Wishing you a merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! :)
