Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along with Teaser Tuesdays! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• Be careful not to include spoilers!
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I’ve been a fan of the Chronicles of Narnia ever since I was given the set by my Aunt and Uncle as a tenth birthday present, so when I saw The Chronicles of Narnia and Philosophy gathering dust in my local Lifeline charity shop I knew it would soon be sitting on my bedside table.

As I read through the various essays the urge to revisit Narnia intensified to the point I could no longer resist. Thus, this week I am teasing both books; one of the greatest works of literary fantasy ever written and the essay collection it inspired that explores the philosophies behind the magical world of Narnia.

If you’ve never visited, you really should! :)

  1. Oh I adored narnia when I first read it. Never heard of The chronicles of narnia and philosophy. Sounds interesting though.

Do drop by my Teaser. Happy Tuesday!

    • The philosophy of Narnia book is part of a series that takes a philosophical look at contemporary entertainment. Some of the other titles include: Harry Potter, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Buffy, Woody Allen, Baseball and The Atkins Diet (which seems a little odd to me, so may have to track that one down!)

Some of the essays are a little disappointing, but on the whole it’s a very interesting book that makes you look at the Chronicles in an entirely different light. :)

      Happy Tuesday!

  4. Those are great teasers! It’s been awhile since I read the Chronicles of Narnia. Unfortunately the ending rather ruined the series for me :-/

    Here’s my teaser! :-)
