Sunday Stealing: Basically Obscure 2.5

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere.

Today we ripped off a writer named Chloerockchick from the group zetaboards. It is 50 questions we will do it in 2.5 parts,  She does not say who she got it from.  But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft’s thieves might take some time.

If you last missed weeks installment in this fifty question meme, you can read it here.

If you missed the first part of this meme, so did I, so it shall forever remain a mystery :)

38: How did you spend Valentines day?

I spent Valentines day in much the same way as I normally spend every day. Pottering around my unit listening to random talk-radio shows whilst coming up with grandiose romantic plans involving candlelit picnics, deserted beaches, moonlit skinny-dips and pervy wombats.

Okay, I don’t normally spend every day imagining wombats perving on me skinny dipping with imaginary girlfriends, but it was Valentines day so my loneliness was somewhat heightened.

39: Do you eat enough vegetables?

Green ones, oranges ones, yellow ones, red ones, white ones – I love every vegetable other than the eggplant, because that bloody wizard in Kid Icarus used to annoy the crap out of me so I vowed from a young age to become their nemesis them for all eternity!

The problem is, vegetables are bloody expensive in Australia and given my strict budget, can rarely afford vast quantities of them. But when I do…hmmm….vegieheaven :p

40: Do you like horror movies? How about thrillers?

I like psychological horror movies. I like ‘random evil monster hunts silly people’ horror movies. I like zom-rom-com horror movies. But I hate torture porn.

And yes, I know hate is a strong word, but in this instance dislike doesn’t cut it.

Thrillers are hit and miss; some are basically perfect (Rear Window, Seven, The Conversation, Memento), some are exceptionally good (Jaws, Videodrome, Leon: The Professional) and some are the most stench filled pieces of crap to have ever existed (The Shortcut, Bats, The Happening).

But then doesn’t that describe every genre?

41: Do you like scotch?

Seriously?

I’m from Scotland, what do you think? :p

42: Who is someone you would never swear in front of?

When I’m in my naughty moods I often imagine what it would be like to drop the F (or C) bomb in front of Queen Elizabeth II, just to see her reaction.

But that’s not the question. I can’t imagine ever swearing in front babies, young children, my in-laws and the President of the United States of America.

43: Coolest thing you’ve ever seen on Halloween?

This would be a toss-up between a friend who went to a Halloween costume as lungbutter (not Sexy Lungbutter, just plain old disgusting regular lungbutter) and a photo Sammi sent me with her dressed as a decapitated Princess Peach :p

44: If you could change your natural hair color, would you? To what?

Not really. I’ve changed my hair colour in the past and I usually end up looking like a complete twat.

45: What subject would you take if you were forced to take a free class?

Professional writing and editing. Or photography. Or film-making. Or anything related to creativity and the media. Or Scottish history. Or literature.

Education is my dream, dammit, I can’t choose just one subject out of so many wonderful options!

46: Do you use a reusable grocery bags?

I do. And hate it when they break and spill my groceries all over the street! They’re meant to be stronger than plastic goddammit!

47: City or nature person?

I like cities close to nature (such as Inverness, Vancouver, Melbourne) so I can have the best of both worlds. :)

48: Have you ever used something other than “makeup” as makeup? (Like paint? Markers?)

Paint. Marker Pens. Biros. Crayons. Glitter. Tip-Ex. Glue. Dirt. Leaves. Toothpaste. Zucchini. And worms.

Just not all at the same time :p

49: Do heights bother you? Can you look out the window on the top floor of a skyscraper?

Yes, heights bother me. No, I can’t look out the window of a skyscraper without wanting to vomit and pass out.

You should see me on a plane :p

50: Post 5 awesome things about your blog. BRAG AWAY!

(Hmmm, this is a little outside my comfort zone, but since you asked…)

– It’s better than any therapist/counselor/psychologist.
– It’s (or rather my) unflinching honesty.
– The fact that it is occasionally confrontational and challenges the way people see the world.
– I still think my ‘Inverness Sunset’ header image is fantastic!
[left intentionally blank so you can insert a reason of your own] :)

The reason this photograph (taken from the observation deck of the at-the-time tallest building in Melbourne) is slightly off-center is because I was passing out at the time! True story ;)

  1. I agree! A blog is much better (and cheaper) than a therapist.

    • Lord knows where I’d be if I didn’t have this blog as I definitely can’t afford a therapist. It’s also a far better listener than any counselor/therapist I’ve seen ;)

  2. I like your answers! And I agree about the education, there are too many great options to chose just one class!

    • Thanks :) That’s the only time I’ve ever been up the Rialto Tower. Based on my reaction I don’t think I could handle going up the Eureka Tower – which is 46.3 meters higher! Gulp.
