Thursday Thirteen: This or That

Yep, I’m still feeling blargh, so for today’s Thursday Thirteen I’m opting for something that doesn’t require too much brain power.

Thirteen This or That?

  1. The Amazing Spider-Man or Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man?
The Amazing Spider-Man. However much I love Sam Raimi’s trilogy – especially the second film and Kirsten Dunst‘s Mary Jane – I was blown away by Marc Webb’s recent take on my favourite superhero. Perhaps because Emma Stone was amazing as Gwen, perhaps because Denis Leary was in it, perhaps because it was just a better film.
  2. One Piece or Bikini?
I look much better in a one-piece. But in terms of perving I prefer bikinis
  3. Roald Dahl or Enid Blyton?
Both authors define my childhood, but Roald Dahl will always be my favourite.
  4. Downer or Downee?
    Downer. Always the downer :p
  5. Video Games or Board Games?
Gathering around the table to test my general knowledge with a round of Trivial Pursuit. Sending small plastic balls pinging around the lounge room with a manic game of Hungry Hippos. Curling up with my partner for a naughty adult orientated board game of fantasy and desire. Buying up the entire of London and rendering my friends and family bankrupt in Monopoly. And of course Scrabble. However much I love video games, board games are in my heart.
  6. Ice-Cream or Gelati?
I love ice-cream. I love gelati even more!
  7. Richard Castle or Malcolm Reynolds?
Rick Castle. I love him as a character, I think his relationship with Kate is tremendous and Alexis is one of my favourite television characters of all time.
  8. Summer or Winter?
Winter. Snuggling up in front of the fire. Long walks in the snow. The fact it’s easier to keep warm than keep cool.
  9. Glasses or Contacts?
Glasses are awesome, brilliant and sexy. Contacts are uncomfortable, annoying and un-sexy. Always glasses :)
  10. Massager or Massagee?
    Massager. Always the massager :p
  11. Merlin or Camelot?
The first season of Merlin was weak; a fluffy piece of family television that contained some poor writing and questionable performances, but I kept watching because I could see the show it could become. Season two was a vast improvement, season three is one of the best seasons of a British show in recent memory, season four, a few missteps aside, was brilliant and so far season five has been superb, aside from some weak writing in last week’s episode. Camelot seemed to be more focussed on breasts and bums and, a wonderful Morgana aside, was awful. So my loyalties will always lie with Merlin – although for the love of God, can someone please find out about his powers?
  12. Hairy Chest or Smooth Chest?
One of my biggest annoyances in contemporary society is the vilification of all forms of body hair. Apparently, if you have even one stray hair in a location that isn’t on your head you are ugly, repulsive, grotesque and wrong. Pubic hair is beautiful, underarm hair is beautiful, leg hair is beautiful, chest hair is beautiful. Endof.
  13. Bath or Shower?
I love baths, but for the life of me can’t remember the last time I had one. So these days my life revolves around showers. However, if I had to choose just one, it would be baths every time :)

Feel free to provide your own answers in the comments below or on your own blog :)

  1. I’m with you on board games and winter over summer, but I’m not a fan of the bath. To me, it feels like stewing in dirty water. Perhaps I’d feel differently if I ever lived in a house with a big comfy tub, either old fashioned claw foot, or new with jets. But most bathtubs are uncomfortable and gross.

  2. This is a fun list. I’ve just returned from holiday in Italy. I ate way too much gelati!!

  3. Bikinis. And Downers. Yes.

  4. I think I have a swim suit somewhere–never owned a bikini. Thanks for posting.

  5. I’m actually frightened by how much we have in common, although I do enjoy my contact lenses when I’m riding my bike (they don’t bounce off my head and they let me wear sunglasses which cover my eyes completely and keep bugs out).

    Happy TT!

  6. I would go for the video games at this stage in my life, although at one point it would have been board games. Mostly though I don’t have anyone to play with so that leaves the video games for self-entertainment. Very intriguing list.
